I started this a loooong time ago, and somehow reading up on the Saw series got this working again.

Title: Justice-ology (I suck at titles, wrrrrrryyyyy)
Fandom: Justice. Brief mention of Saw IV, though only as a movie Alden's watched.
Rating: PG-- mild language.
Pairing/Characters: Alden-centric with significant Tom, Ron, and Luther musings. Very vague Alden/Tom.
Summary: Alden finds an old piece of clothing that gets her thinking on how the team works.
Disclaimer: Don't own either Justice or Saw, etc.

Cuts are nice. Collapse )

Author's Notes (because I can't get them to work behind the cut):
  • Alden's pre-TNT&G years are pure idiotic geeking musing and contemplation and are not canon.
  • For those unfamiliar with the Saw series, here's Wikipedia's snippet on Lieutenant Rigg.
  • The personality test mentioned is the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. I'm convinced Alden's an ENTJ.
  • chaos_harmony takes credit for the original idea of Tom = Haverford boy. After submitting my application, I FREAKING WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE. It's such a Tom school.

I should reeaaalllly be writing my Law as Lit essay assigned over break and not spend insane amounts of time organizing my tags.
too late.

This month is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Month. Talk about your experiences with ADHD, or those of someone close to you.
I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was seven and was re-evaluated this past December and proven beyond any shadow of a doubt that I do indeed have the disorder, I'm not a 'doctor got lazy about rambunctious kid and scratched off a prescription' case. I display virtually all of the symptoms associated with ADHD from the very typical (difficulty with organization, impulsivity) to those not as well known and now more closely associated with bipolar-2 (the milder form), such as uncontrollably fast thoughts and very intense but very short periods of depression. I'm officially diagnosed with both, but seeing how closely related the chemistry for both disorders are [one of the medicines I take, Lamictal, actually treats symptoms of both disorders], I personally believe that bipolar-2 is just sort of a misnomer-more-specific division of ADHD. It's like the difference between ADHD and ADD, if that makes sense.

Anyhoo, I believe very strongly this disorder has been hugely misunderstood. When I took PDS (personal development seminar) sophomore year, we ended up touching on prescription drug abuse (an epidemic I very strongly believe is caused by a misunderstanding of the disorders Rx drugs treat) and going into psychotropic medications/the disorders they treat. I was totally shocked by how little people knew about the whole topic, and since then spreading the word has been very, very important to me.

So I'm asking you guys-- ask me anything regarding the disorder. Anything. I'm making this public so that anyone stumbling by can ask, discuss, and most importantly understand what's really going on.

general notes:
---> All files are hosted with MediaFire.

---> All files, excluding singles that consist of only one song, are in the .zip format.

---> All songs are mp3s.

---> Release date data, song titles, and album art are all taken from the official website and *should* be accurate.

---> Please understand that this is not an absolutely complete discography; I *know* I'm missing two demo tapes and who knows what else. If you have something of giru's that isn't already up here and would like to see it up here, please leave a comment, and we'll chat! :)

---> This is a discography post-- meaning there will be no track of their DVD releases or music videos. Comments asking for either will be ignored.
---> Do not link others to this post or my files in a public place (i.e. a forum, Livejournal Community, etc.). Can't stress this one enough. If I catch wind of that happening, this post will be deleted. This post originally started with the sharing of otherwise hard-to-find singles, then grew to include their whole discography before JapanFiles obtained the rights to internat'l distribution of Girugamesh.

---> Find other ways to support the artists if you can! Part of the reason I decided to open this post back up is because I understand that most of us are too damn broke to afford to buy every single giru release-- and lol the boys are so damn lovable you'll probably wind up wanting to buy their overpriced merch and make them a ton of money anyways. 8Db

8/30/08 -- discography uploaded to the public

9/24/08 -- clarified ambiguities, fixed errors, added both versions of the 'Music' albums' tracklists and cover art.

12/16/09 -- checked links, cleaned up unnecessarily cheeky comments/HTML, decided to give JapanFiles the proverbial middle finger and uploaded MUSIC, NOW (CD-only ver.), ALIVE, BORDER, and crying rain.

Beauty is Within Us --- Scott Matthew
A lovely, pretty slow-ish song. Good for that whole "rejuvenation" vibe, and Scott Matthew's voice has sort of a rich, chocolatey quality but somehow is still kinda airy.

Dance Rock Night -- ギルガメッシュ
You guys know I'm too stupid [mohohoho giru joke] to not pimp girugamesh just a little xD;. Currently my favorite "I'M GONNA MOTHERFUCKIN' PART-AAAAAAY" song, has a very prominent, catchy bassline, and great moshing/headbanging material. Like everything of girugamesh, it's nothing spectacular, but maaaaaaaaan, it's almost impossible to not want to get up and dance listening to this. It's like a DDR song for rockers.

The Garden of Everything -- Sakamoto Maaya / Steve Conte
EVERYONE NEEDS TO LISTEN TO THIS SONG. It's just -absolutely- beautiful and it's got some wonderful, simple, but effective lyrics, and a bunch of people on my flist can tell you how much I rave about it.

Go to "Rakuen" -- Kanno Yoko. This is a "story" song that just begs to be written to and is essentially a musical story. Beautiful orchestration with a little snippet of electronic here and there.

I am Chromosome -- Martin Grech I uploaded this a while before, but I've since added people on my flist. I still highly recommend, it's a great edgey (no Ace Attorney pun intended) song, and the lyrics are creepy and eerie in the best way possible.

Bomb a head! -- m.c. AT featuring DA PUMP The weird-ass but really fucking catchy opening of Tenjo Tenge. I never actually watched the anime, but dayuuuum this is one hell of a fun song. :D

Loosey -- the STRiPES. Funky, hyperactive jazz / tap dancing / hip-hop that's basically an eargasm |D. The opening theme for Burst Angel, it's one hell of a song that's srsly like nothing you're ever gonna hear. It's just a fantastic mish-mosh of LOOSEY BEAUTY GET YOUR BODY~

f.c.p.s.i.t.s.g.e.p.g.e.p.g.e.p -- The Fall of Troy. HELL IF I KNOW WHAT IT MEANS OR STANDS FOR, but this song was featured on Guitar Hero III and is my personal favorite of theirs. They're a very offbeat rockband, and while the vocals really aren't so great, there's exciting, super-choppy structure and raging fast guitar solos. It's good stuff!

I've sent some of these songs to people individually, but I figure I'd upload just a bunch while the thought was in my head. Tell me which ones you want to hear more of, and I can upload more or just send 'em your way~
BY THE WAY, these are sendspace links, meaning they'll expire very soon. So grab 'em while they're hot!

Enjoy! <3
